History: Evaluate for ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament.
TECHNIQUE: Contiguous axial CT images of the neck were obtained at 1 mm
intervals with subsequent coronal and sagittal reformations. Total radiation
dose: DLP 759 mGycm, CTDI volume 30.73 mGy
Findings: There is reversal normal cervical lordosis with apex at approximately
C6. There is loss of intervertebral disc height at C4-C5, C5-C6, C6-C7, with
anterior and posterior osteophyte formation at these levels. There is no
evidence for ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament. Vertebral
body height normal. The visualized lung apices appear normal.
Impression:
1. Advanced degenerative disc disease of the lower cervical spine.
2. No evidence for ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament.
