On Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, Katherine and Brian first flew to San Diego to go on a fishing trip with Jason Knight and his boys Alex and August. The boat had mechanical problems, so we never left the docks. Remember you can click on any photo below for the highest quality original version that exists.
Pictures mostly in time order. Below we are parked at Austin Airport. I take a picture to remember where we parked. :-)
The next day we all get up really early, Jason and the boys drive down from Los Angeles, and the boat (seen below) is supposed to leave at 7am. It never left this spot.
Here we are a half hour later waiting for the captain and crew to fix some things. Jason Knight, August Knight, and Alex Knight.

For fun I brought along my "Starlink Mini". I just tossed it up under the front window (not outside, inside) and hooked it up my battery I brought along, and here it is getting 111 Mbits/sec (in the San Diego Harbor).
And, no boat mechanics were willing to come fix the boat, so we gave up and got brunch.

The picture below was taken at 6am just before sunrise the next day. I'm standing basically at the front door of the VRBO.
We got dinner with Lia, Katherine, Kendall, and off to the right (but not pictured) is Kyle.
The next morning before our flight home departed we hung out at Lia's San Diego house for a little while. This is her "Nanowall".
I was impressed how the drawer under the stovetop worked and how little clearance the stovetop needed!

The picture below is just me framing in a map program approximately the same perspective as the photo above. I was curious what caused the large blackout areas at night. It turns out it's a golf course!
